Takemasa proves that a restaurant close to the main rail station can still feel local. The clientele and staff here felt warm and welcoming right from the entry noren. We enjoyed their help with every move from menu interpretation (we are abysmally weak in Japanese) to how to sip-off the Tohoku-over-topped sake pour. Among the plates we tried: the sashimi mix, roast bamboo, grilled shitake, asparagus tempura. Each one was superb. This will be our go-to place for our last night in town.
