We had a fantastic New Year’s Eve meal here yesterday for a group of 10. From the moment we arrived, the waitress (whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch) was excellent and a real credit to The Talbot Inn. She gave us time to order drinks at the table to start with and paced the meal perfectly — we never felt rushed at any point. The starters were all excellent, as were the main courses and desserts. The atmosphere in the pub was lively and really added to the occasion. Our meal was pre-ordered and pre-paid online, which was very straightforward, and communication from the pub about menu choices was clear and helpful throughout. We also thought £20 per person was outstanding value for the quality of food and level of service we received.
