Amazing taste and nicely prepared food. Nice ambience. The food tasted really good. Loved that the restaurant has kept the food completely authentically north indian which most of the places miss or overdo! The paneer gravy wasn’t over creamy or over spicy and the dal wasn’t undercooked or had too much ghee/fat which is a perfect thing to do! We ordered saag paneer, dal tadka and roti! Dal was the best by the looks and by the taste, saag paneer also tasted just right! Roti could be a little better and softer (8.5/10). It did take a little time for the staff to get the food, or the roti we ordered the second time, and dal and curry got cold. One of their servers was giving some judgemental looks, which was weird, so service can definitely be improved. They also serve complimentary papad, with some chutney, which were oily. We didn’t eat those. Overall, nice place, great taste, can be a permanent option to come whenever we are traveling towards I-75 S (very near to the highway and is just a 12 min detour). The definition of this Restaurant known as TANDOOR FINE INDIAN CUISINE located on 3146 Maple leaf Dr. Lexington, Kentucky is that as soon as you enter its doors you r transported into a beautiful scenic mix of bright multi colored lights, lovely hues of decor and the fragrance is heavenly(wish i could have a room there!) then proceeding to the Dining room you see simple ample space, nicely arranged tables, clean and crisp and a lot of staff that look very Indian and r very respectful to guests... but Alas... apart from the colorful decor the sad part is that the Food is very bland...even the Chicken biryani has no taste, pooris are too hard and uneven and although the theme of the food is North indian food(Punjabi) there is no taste in anything on that buffet, even the Goa Shrimp curry just has preboiled shrimp from Frozen packs and dumped into a tasteless brown coconut(presumably Coconut milk from Cans, not natural Coconut) the hot Chai was not creamy and tasteless too, BUT the worst part of this Buffet is its just Chicken chicken and Chicken all the time... where is the Goat meat?? where is Lamb??? at least on Sundays they should have had Goat or Lamb meat but its just chicken all the time!!! at nearly $20.00 plus Tips this is "not at all" Money well spent.. i say if you want to feel the beautiful ambience of the lovely Fragrances or multicolored lights or comfortable seating then you can visit this place...BUT NOT for the food...hope its owners will read this review and hire real Indian cooks and pay more to get Goat and Lamb meats instead of trying to cut corners and save money on food costs, it hurts the hungry customers but it fills up the owners pockets, sorry, have a good day.
