Try good spicy soup, spicy chicken and light salads to form your opinion about this bbq. You will enjoy its food, especially tasty rice cakes. Clients don't like tea at Tang Jip.
A lot of guests have noticed that the staff is professional here. Service at this place is something one can name fast. From the visitors' point of view, prices are low. The modern decor and homey atmosphere let guests feel relaxed here. But google users haven't given this spot a high rating.

I have been a dedicated regular at both Tang Jib (formerly Korean BBQ Bowl) and Ohgane in Alameda since April 2006, dining at both establishments at least once a week for two decades. Over the years, I have left numerous positive reviews, but the steep decline in food quality, kitchen execution, and staff morale across both locations can no longer be ignored. Both restaurants are suffering from a severe lack of hands-on leadership. The current manager, who previously ran the much smaller Spoon restaurant in Berkeley, is entirely out of his depth. Running high-volume restaurants requires a floor presence and attention to service details, yet he remains hidden in the office. Without active supervision, staff morale is low, and kitchen training has evaporated. The food has devolved from exceptional to barely edible and wildly inconsistent. At Tang Jib, a recent seafood pancake came out burnt, greasy with old oil, and entirely disintegrated on the plate. To make matters worse, after sending it back, the kitchen kept me waiting for 30 minutes before the waitress admitted they simply couldn't prepare it any better. At both locations, staple dishes like Galbitang fluctuate wildly—rubbery and impossible to cut on one day, and perfectly tender on another. When confronted with tough meat, management's solution was to hand me a pair of scissors and claim "that's just how it's cooked. Owners Micha and Michael Oh need to take immediate action. Both Tang Jib and Ohgane urgently need a replacement of the uncommunicative kitchen staff and the hiring of experienced, visible floor managers who understand high-volume hospitality. The staffs were nice. We were greeted and offered seats right away. What we ordered: Seafood Pancake- It was pretty good, a bit thicker than other places and sauce was okay. Donkatsu- The pork was good and portion was good for the price. Pork Belly BBQ- It was a tab dry and a bit bland. Wasn’t my favorite. Banchan- The plates are cute but made the portion of banchan very small. Banchan were good, we had to ask for extra. Would come again if I’m in the area and try something different. Tried Tang Jip recently with my girlfriend and honestly the food was pretty good. Everything came out hot and flavorful, and you can tell it’s made fresh. The soups hit, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the banchan kept the table interesting the whole time. Definitely one of those spots where you leave full and happy. The vibe inside is nice too. Clean, cozy, not crazy loud, you can actually enjoy your meal and have a conversation. Love the lighting they have up on the ceiling. Customer service was great. Super friendly and attentive without being over the top. Restrooms were okay, one door stall toilet and a shared sink. Also the bar didn’t seem fully up and running when we went, so drink options were a little limited. Not a huge deal though. Still got a soju Overall, really solid experience. I’d definitely come back. Price per person: $90–100 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
