A hidden gem down a quiet side street near To-Ji temple. No English menus, just handwritten Japanese. The food was all laid out on the countertop when you enter so be prepared to just point at stuff and wing it a little bit if you cant read Japanese. A few culinary surprises are part of the fun. Everything was delicious and the elderly couple that run the place were very kind and patient. Get the hamburger steak and beef rib stew if you can. It was a great experience. I am 34 years old and it's the best restaurant I have been to in my whole life. I cried while tasting the special taste of Tanto-san and his wife's meals. Please, if you are reading this, COME. I can't believe how good their food is. It's almost magical. If you are looking for a PROPER Japanese restaurant without tourists, this has to be your next stop. I love it.
