Tanuki is a modest yet cozy dining spot nestled on Gotanda Street in Ama. Known primarily through word of mouth rather than extensive online listings, Tanuki offers takeaway and dine-in options, with a reputation among locals as a welcoming izakaya where one can unwind. Although the restaurant is marked as cash-only and lacks delivery facilities, it warmly accommodates solo diners and groups, making it a flexible choice for various occasions.
While accessibility features might be limited, with no wheelchair-accessible entrance or parking, Tanuki compensates with its inviting atmosphere and accommodating owner. The establishment serves an array of beverages, including alcohol and beer, alongside small plates, with patrons noting the owner's friendly engagement and willingness to prepare off-menu dishes when reservations are made. Despite its low online profile, reviews praise Tanuki as a relaxed place to enjoy a drink and meal, although updates from the owner or more recent feedback could enhance its appeal to new visitors.
The restaurant operates in the evening from 5 PM to 10 PM, except on Wednesdays when it remains closed, showing a consistent commitment to serving the local community. Potential diners might find interest in the establishment's take-home offerings and reservation flexibility, contributing to its down-to-earth charm. For those curious about exploring a piece of Ama's local culture, Tanuki presents itself as a unique choice despite the sparse details available online.

行ったことないけど表の看板が てぬき に見えるのは気のせいかな!?(笑) しかし、おじさんとしてはメニューは美味そうに見える。 テイクアウトが有るなら行ってみたいぞ。
