This is a great unassuming restraunt serving up birria, tacos of all kinds and tortas. I have been here three times now. Just the other night I called in an order of 16 tacos. No problem, 15 minutes later we were chowing down on a variety of tacos--asada, Al pastor, and adobada. All were delicious with their accompanying salsa. I have started recommending this spot to all my friends because the food is so comforting.

I will be the first to admit that I was very skeptical of how good this place was. When I saw the photos of the food I was not at all excited however, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the best taco place I have been to in a long time. I would even go as far as saying that this place even beats most California taco places. Everything was amazing and I was absolutely wrong. The photos don't do this place justice. Do yourself a favor and stop by, you will not regret it.

I recently made it a mission to find the best burrito in the Gorge and Taqueria El Cuate has the best. In my search I tried the burritos from all the places where it was said in reviews that they had the best. That narrowed the search to the best burritos in the Gorge, so El Cuate is the best of the best. Their burrito had a fresh blend of ingredients with good, well balanced, pleasant flavor. It was good at the first bite and the real test is if it's good to the last bite (which it was). Their burger (Ricky's Hamburger) is really good, with fresh and pleasant flavor. It's among the best burgers in the Gorge.
