If you want to experience a typical Portuguese family restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, visit Tasca do Mata. Small in size but big on taste, this restaurant offers classic Portuguese dishes like “bitoque” and a daily menu. It's best to arrive at 12:00 or after 13:30. If you arrive early, you can choose from the daily menu dishes. I dined here four days in a row during my vacation, and everything was delicious. Even if you arrive later, you can still enjoy a great lunch with traditional menu items or various Portuguese “petiscos.” João, the owner and sole waiter, ensures every guest feels welcome. In the kitchen, Senhor Diamantino, the master cook, demonstrates his extensive experience through his culinary skills. Lunch is served from 12:00 to 17:00, which is unique in Portugal. A Tasca do Mata é um pequeno local que se destaca pela qualidade e pelo excelente atendimento. João, no balcão e nas mesas, e Diamantino, na cozinha, fazem deste lugar um destino ao qual se deseja sempre voltar. Os pratos diários são todos muito saborosos, complementados pelos tradicionais petiscos portugueses. A relação qualidade-preço do menu diário é excelente, incluindo azeitonas, tremoços, pão, manteiga, vinho e um prato bem servido.
