Had the best Hawaiian pizza I've ever tasted.
Didn't I'd manage a 12 inch, but I ate almost all of it! Good and friendly service. First time in, but I'll definitely be back!

It really pains me to leave a largely negative review for this restaurant after previously leaving a positive one, but they used to be so much better than this. I've known the owner for about 20 years and my family and I have frequented both this restaurant and cafe Victoria at least once a month for all that time.
The last two visits have been marred by very poor service / behaviour by the staff. In November, my wife, son and I went for our usual trip to 'A taste of Italy'. We all had our usual dishes which were delicious as usual. Towards the end of the meal though, the noise emanating from the front of house kitchen started becoming louder and louder, to the point that nobody could hear what their dinner guests were saying. Onn looking towards the kitchen, it became apparent that the two chefs were having an argument and one of them was loudly throwing cutlery into a metal bin while shouting at his colleague. This was embarrassing and quite unprofessional.

On the same evening, I asked the waitress for some plain Italian bread and butter. What arrived was first some toast and butter, then pizza base and then bruschetta, before I eventually got the waitress to understand the concept of just some sliced bread with some butter. I had no idea that 'bread and butter' was such an unusual and exotic dish.

Our most recent visit in December 2022 was disappointing too. On this occasion, my family and I booked a table to celebrate my wife's birthday. On arrival, I asked the male waiter to keep the birthday cake behind the counter, along with the candles and lighter, to be brought to our table at the appropriate time after the main course.
The restaurant wasn't busy but in spite of this, the staff were generally inattentive and our waiter especially was more intent on polishing the cutlery and putting it in the drawer, that making sure we were attended to. This lack of attention became increasingly more irritating as the meal progressed. After we had all finished the main course, we had to wait for about 20 minutes before I could grab the attention of our 'waiter' and ask for 3 latte coffees and for the cake to be brought. After a long wait, the coffees arrived but no cake!
I asked 'Where's the cake'? and the reply was 'Oh yeah'. Another embarrassing wait ensued until my young son excitedly said 'Here it comes !' To my dismay, the waiter unceremoniously carried the cake to out table, complete with about 6 unlit candles and just left it on our table!
No lighted candles, no singing Happy Birthday, no plates and no forks, and absolutely no smiles or happy faces.... it was excruciatingly embarrassing and awkward. I asked him if he couldn't at least have lit the candles when he brought the cake over and he replied 'I could have' and handed me a lighter so I could light the candles myself. My wife was so upset and looked like she wanted to cry, other diners looked over at us in pity and I just felt awful for my wife. The moment was ruined and the only reason I didn't make more of a complaint is that I didn't want to spoil her night any more. I simply asked for the bill, paid it without saying a word, and left in silence with my family.
A Taste of Italy used to be so much better than this! Great food, often spoiled by mediocre service.
