Exceptional Thai Gem in Liverpool – TATHASTU is Unforgettable !!! From the moment I stepped into Tathatsu on a chilly Liverpool evening, I knew this was going to be something special. The warm glow of the lighting, the gentle hum of Thai music in the background, and the welcoming smiles from the staff instantly transported me & my family to the bustling lanes of Bangkok. This little Thai restaurant has mastered the art of making every visit feel like a mini-escape, and the food? Simply outstanding. We started with the classic tom yum soup, and it was perfection in a bowl. The broth was vibrantly aromatic – a perfect balance of fiery chilli heat, tangy lime, lemongrass freshness, and that deep, savory shrimp base. Each spoonful was an explosion of flavor that warmed me from the inside out, with plump prawns and mushrooms adding wonderful texture. It’s easily one of the best tom yum soups I’ve ever had outside Thailand. Next came the green Thai curry, served alongside a steaming bowl of piping-hot jasmine rice. The curry was rich, creamy, and intensely fragrant, with tender chunks of chicken and crisp vegetables swimming in that vivid green sauce. The heat level was spot-on – bold and spicy without overpowering the delicate coconut milk and herb notes. Scooping it over the fluffy, perfectly cooked rice felt like pure comfort; every bite was deeply satisfying and left me wanting more. We also shared a selection of grilled items – succulent chicken satay skewers with a beautifully charred exterior and juicy interior, served with a thick, nutty peanut sauce that I could have eaten by the spoonful. The accompanying noodles (pad Thai, of course) were a highlight: tangy, slightly sweet, with that unmistakable wok thai smokiness, tossed with fresh beansprouts, egg, prawns, and crushed peanuts. Everything felt fresh, authentic, and made with real care. What made the evening truly memorable, though, wasn’t just the exceptional food – it was the whole experience. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, the atmosphere relaxed and inviting, and every dish arrived at the perfect pace. Sitting there, savoring each flavorful moment, sharing plates and stories with my companions, it felt like time slowed down. Tathatsu doesn’t just serve Thai food; it creates memories. If you’re in Liverpool and craving authentic, soul-warming Thai cuisine, do yourself a favor and visit Tathatsu. It’s not just a meal – it’s an experience I’ll be thinking about (and craving) for a long time. Five stars without hesitation. I’ll be back very soon.
