I had the pleasure of hosting my daughter's 40th birthday celebration at Tavern on High in North Andover, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff at Tavern on High are highly trained and went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of the evening was truly special. Our waitress was extremely attentive, making certain that our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. The team at Tavern on High truly exceeded all of my expectations and made the night one that we will always remember. Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: $100+

I will start by saying that the food was pretty decent and our waitress was cordial. However, we quickly noticed, being the only people of color, that we were all seated in the back room of the establishment. We were told the main dining room/bar area was full and there’d be a 40 minute wait. Friday night, so it wasn’t surprising but we were perfectly fine with the wait. There were several empty tables and were told they were reserved. We were then offered the option of an open table in the back that just needed to be cleaned so we took advantage. The waitress approached us very quickly for drink orders but we noticed she was very curt with us. Food was decent for the price but not the best. I ordered a crispy chicken wrap that was 90% lettuce with one singular chicken tender wrapped inside. Although the waitress was “attentive”, we started to notice it was more of a “hurry up and finish attitude.” After paying and leaving through the main seating area we noticed that the “reserved” tables plus several more we still open and untouched, as in no one had been seated there and they were clean. We all (party of 3 veterans) noticed that we were the only people of color in the establishment save for one other male that was also seated in the back room with us. This may have been an anomaly but based on some previous reviews I’ve read, it seems like this restaurant only wants a certain type of person in the main area but will still take your money and make you feel unwelcome. I first off want to apologize that you ever felt unwelcome in our restaurant. I (the owner) have a child of mixed race, so I can assure you that we are welcoming to ALL people. I understand how it can appear regarding the tables, however when we have reservations planned, we have to hold those tables until the party arrives. Thursdays through Saturdays are our busiest nights of the week, and we are typically on a wait. I'm happy you took the opportunity to sit in the back room that we keep un-reserved specifically for walk-ins. Can't go wrong here. The food is amazing. You can't go wrong with the short rib. We sat at the bar, CJ & Adriana were great bartenders. They were prompt, helpful with suggestions and recommendations. It was a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
