THE GHETTO TAVERN, WHERE “BOB DE NOANTRI” TELLS THE TRADITIONAL DISHES There are places in Rome that are not simple restaurants, but real time machines. The Taverna del Ghetto, nestled in the beating heart of the Jewish quarter, is one of these. Here you don't just go to eat: you go to live an experience. But let's talk about the menu, the Giudia artichokes and the coratella are a dive into the truest tradition. Stuff that when you taste them you hear a chorus of Roman grandmothers applauding in the background. It is an embrace of strong and authentic flavours, like the city they come from. And how can we forget the rigatoni with pajata? No, it's not a dish, it's a sacred ritual: the pajata blends with the sauce in a perfect marriage and every bite makes you understand why Rome is eternal. And then there is "Bob de Noantri", the waiter 'lookalike' of Robert De Niro who, with his sly smile and ready jokes, seems to have come out of an Italian comedy. One of those who masterfully recommends the right dish without ever taking himself too seriously. Ultimately, the Taverna del Ghetto is the right place to go out with a full stomach and a lighter heart. Because, as Bob would say: “You can never go wrong doing the right thing!” Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Carciofo Alla Giudia, Rigatoni Con La Pajata, Tonnarello Cacio Pepe E Carciofo Alla Giudia

A friend of ours who lives in the area introduced us to the Taverna del Ghetto. It was a very pleasant surprise. Welcoming and pleasant environment. Roberto welcomed us inside because it was raining, suggesting some typical local dishes including lamb coratella, lamb brains with fried artichokes, pajata alla cacciatora etc. and finally local desserts such as ricotta and viscose tart and ricotta and cool... everything truly beyond all expectations!!! Highly recommended. We will be back next spring if we book in advance! Well done everyone!!
