This is what “a hidden gem” is all about: a wonderful small restaurant in the middle of Trastevere with great Roman-style food and super nice service, all wrapped with more than sensible pricing.We started with a 0.5L carafe of the house’s red wine (€5 which is basically 2 glasses each!); a very tasty and garlicci mix bruschettas of pomodoro, zucchini and eggplant (€5 for the three); and octopus with potatoes which came with lots of love oil and was magnificent (€8.5 only).For main dishes we had an amazing parmigiana di melanzane (€10) and a simple yet WOW spaghetti aglio, with a side of Puntarelle- a great version of Roman salad with anchovies (€6 and €5 respectfully). A very good tiramisu (€5) to share ended our dinner with a sweet smile and no doubt - whenever we’ll be back to Rome, we’ll be back to Taverna della Scala.
