Small local shop in Kutchan that serves fresh, delicious and reasonably priced sushi and chirashi bowls. The sushi chef and the server were both very nice and welcoming. I got the “very special sushi set” and chef’s nigiri sushi was pleasantly wasabi-forward. And the ambience is charming and very authentic. We went during off peak season, just right after they opened at 18:00, it was just the three of us seated at the counter and three local seniors at the traditional Japanese table. It was giving all the rural, local feels in am authentic way. The town of Kutchan overall is also very charming. Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This was such a incredible meal. We had the eel and rice which was perfectly cooked and delicious. We also got the nigiri set- it all tasted so fresh and amazing. Thanks ladies, we will be back. Price per person: ¥4,000–5,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tenhoh is a vibe. It is warm, cosy, serves good sushi (and sake!) Because it was almost fully occupied, we sat at the counter. This was when we saw the restaurant staffs chatting with customers, while communicating with each other to make sure no orders were missed. Food was amazing. We also had a few makizushi which we forgot to take pictures of. Highly recommended! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥4,000–5,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
