Happened to walk past this soup curry restaurant while shopping at Stella Place and decided to have dinner there. There was a short queue and within 10 mins my table for 2 was ready. We ordered 2 bowks: the chicken and the pork soup curry. Both the chicken and the pork meat was tender. The vegetables were fresh and tender too. The soup curry was full of flavor and goes very well with rice. Each bowl portion was not big but sufficient. For those who want more rice to go with the soup curry can select the large bowl of rice. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food served. Highly recommended. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Walking into Tenma on the 6th floor of Stellar Place, you can already sense that this is no ordinary curry joint. The scent of rich spices greets you softly, promising depth and warmth. When the soup curry arrives, it lives up to that promise — the broth is bold, spicy, and deeply aromatic, infused with layers of flavor that gradually reveal themselves. What stands out most is the beef curry. Large, tender chunks of beef are nestled in a pool of vibrant, reddish-amber broth. The meat has soaked up the curry so beautifully that each bite is darkly savory, slightly caramelized at the edges, and melt-in-your-mouth. The beef’s natural richness balances the heat, giving the broth body without making it oily or heavy. The spice level is assertive — but not reckless. It tingles your tongue and warms your core, yet you can still taste the underlying complexity: hints of garlic, onion, and a subtle sweetness from carrots or fruit (a common technique in Japanese curries). The broth is generously seasoned, so even when the meat and vegetables are finished, sipping the soup itself is a pleasure. As with many soup curries, Tenma’s version comes with a medley of vegetables: crisp green beans, chunks of potato, carrot, maybe eggplant or bell pepper, each cooked just enough to retain texture while soaking up the curry broth. And of course, a serving of rice (or sometimes “rice on the side”) to complement. Reviewers mention that the curry is filling, satisfying, and worth every yen. The interior is cozy but modern, with enough seating — good for resting your feet after a day of walking in downtown Sapporo. Reviewers sometimes comment that at dinner, the menu choices narrow (some items sell out), so arriving earlier gives a fuller experience. In short: if you’re in the mood for a soup curry that doesn’t shy away from boldness, Tenma’s beef soup curry in Stellar Place is a delight — spicy, deeply flavorful, with hearty beef and vibrant vegetables all swimming in a broth you’ll want to drink to the last drop.
