Nestled in the residential area of Yoshidashinmachi, Tenryu offers a taste of Chinese cuisine in the charming city of Kawagoe. The restaurant is known for its welcoming ambience, popular especially among solo diners. Despite its location away from the city's hustle and bustle, Tenryu has won over many local patrons with its delicious offerings that rival the comfort of a homemade meal. It operates on a "cash only" basis, so visitors are advised to come prepared.
Tenryu provides both dine-in and takeaway options but does not offer delivery. There are certain amenities such as a restroom available, yet it's important to note that there is no wheelchair accessibility for parking, entrance, or seating. For those looking to enjoy a drink with their dinner, they serve alcohol and beer, complementing their traditional Chinese dishes well. Reviews suggest reservations might be necessary, and it's unclear how easily new customers can secure a spot, so calling ahead could be beneficial.
While visitors have fond memories of the food and atmosphere, some remark that the portion sizes are moderate compared to other places. Operating hours are fairly consistent throughout the week, with a break between lunch and dinner service. It's worth mentioning that the most recent visitor feedback was left a few months ago, highlighting the lack of updated information from the restaurant itself. Whether you're a local or a curious traveler, Tenryu presents an intriguing option for those exploring Kawagoe's dining scene.

It's not a city, it's a residential area. The portion size is normal compared to other restaurants' large portions, the prices are 20 or 30 years old, and the taste is so delicious that locals have become regulars. I can see how it feels better to come here to eat than to make at home. I recommend it to students in my area. If there is one near the university, it will be a 100% thriving store.
