Nice new Mexican Restaurant in the Southside. Came here for late lunch after work and got some nachos that come with steak shrimp and chicken, let me tell you those were some of the best nachos I've ever had. Definitely different than your standard nachos. Also got the steak with chorizo tacos and they were solid! Got a Luna Azul Margarita Shaker and that was nice and refreshing! All in all nice place as well on the inside nice big wrap around bar and a good clean Vibe inside.

Teocalli brings the kind of energy that instantly feels like a celebration — because honestly, every meal should start and end with a margarita. From the moment you sit down and are greeted with fresh chips & salsa, you know you’re in for a good time. Recently opened in the South Side, this family owned and operated Mexican restaurant and bar is serving authentic flavors, vibrant dishes and seriously impressive cocktails! The margarita menu alone is worth the visit. The Teocalli Margarita mixed tequila, fresh margarita mix, jalapeños, pineapple chamoy and a tajín rim for the perfect sweet heat combo. The jumbo margaritas were equally incredible — especially the Vida Sandía with strawberry & watermelon and the Manguito with mango and tajín. Every drink arrived beautifully garnished and packed with flavor. And of course, an ice cold Modelo always hits!!! For appetizers, the queso fundido was the ultimate starter — warm melted queso topped with pico de gallo with the option to add shrimp or chorizo. The chicken taquitos were another standout: crispy fried flour tortillas stuffed with shredded chicken and cheese, then topped with lettuce, pico, sour cream and chipotle ranch. The quesabirria completely lived up to the hype and easily earned a 12/10. The grilled tortilla dipped in rich birria consommé, loaded with beef and melty cheese, then served with consommé for dipping was absolutely packed with flavor! Another unforgettable dish was the molcajete — a sizzling platter loaded with grilled steak, bacon wrapped shrimp, grilled chicken, sausage, queso fresco, red salsa, cambray onions, jalapeños, rice and beans. It was flavorful, filling and perfect for sharing. Between the incredible food, top notch drinks, welcoming atmosphere and authentic family traditions behind the menu, Teocalli is already becoming a South Side favorite. Bonus points for their lunch specials and catering options too! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Finally! I moved here from Atlanta almost 10 years ago. I have been hard pressed to find good Mexican food. The place is comfortable and clean inside. The esthetic is great and the service is top notch. I highly recommend this over any other Mexican place I’ve been to in Pittsburgh.
