Teras Java is such a lovely spot for authentic Indonesian food, with plenty of dishes to choose from. We tried the nasi rames with dendeng balado, and it was a pleasant surprise—the dendeng was much less spicy than I expected, but in the best possible way. The flavours felt balanced, refined, and surprisingly elegant while still having that comforting Indonesian character. The real highlight for us, though, was the chili sauce that came with the gepuk. This one had a serious kick! We loved it so much that we decided to take a small container home, and naturally, we opted for the strongest one. The owner was incredibly kind and only charged us $2, which we thought was very reasonable. The food, the flavours, and the warm hospitality made this a really enjoyable experience.
