Tertulias is pretty near Museo de las Culturas Aborigenes. It is cool to try great coffee. The good service is its considerable advantage. This cafe has got Google 4.7 according to the visitors' opinions.

The kindness and patience of the owner was stellar and he was remarkably informative and proud of the coffee and cocoa they serve. Indeed, it seems that his family has a coffee plantation in Palamba, Loja Province, a place renowned for its Arabica coffee. He was quite proud to mention that their coffee is grown completely organically and roasted without ANY additives, unlike most other coffee from Loja offered for sale here in Cuenca. The coffee was a bit weak for my taste but of very good flavor. They sell it for a remarkably low $4.00/pound, or at least that’s what the gentleman in front of me paid for his pound of coffee. I saw no prices marked.Other items, however, were commensurately reasonably priced and their food is delicious. The bolon I saw at the next table looked terrific. It comes with a fried egg, a cup of coffee and a huge glass of fresh juice for $2.75.

The tigrillo is the best! Egg is mixed in so it’s moist and it’s much more flavorful than most we’ve had in Cuenca. The coffee was extremely weak.Service was friendly.More of a “mom & pop” establishment. We were disappointed one morning when we went for tigrillo and they said they couldn’t make it for a couple hours :( The restauranteur was apologetic and helpful.
