On my work trip to Danville, I found this lovely restaurant through Yelp. Decided it looked interesting enough to give a try. Casual atmosphere is the first impression. There's a bar, large TV screen, and pleasant staff. I was sat immediately and got my usual - unsweetened iced tea. The menu is modest with different farm-fresh fare - some items with an Asian influence. I chose the fresh spring greens salad with a citrus vinaigrette dressing for starters. What a treat! It was divine! The citrus vinaigrette was light, tasty, and had a lightly spicy tang. Very generous portion of fresh greens, too!! My main course was a very interesting combo of fried chicken with drizzled honey on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, shiitake mushrooms, and roasted brussel sprouts. Now, I do not like brussel sprouts in general. In this case, the combo of the creamy potatoes and the mild, non-bitter sprouts made a believer out of me!! I loved the entire dish! I saw pecan pie on the dessert list and figured I'd indulge a bit tonight. Drizzled with a brandy caramel sauce and complimented with vanilla ice cream, the pecan pie was a delight! Crust was flaky and the pie was on point and fresh! The prices are definitely $$, but well worth it! You get what you pay for at this place! Excellent food, nice staff, and great portions! What more can you ask for?
