Went to the Acorn beefeater tonight, badly in need of more staff. Felt sorry for 3 lovely ladies trying to serve a very busy restaurant. Ordered Medium Sirloin steak, mushroom and fries . It was more medium rare but tasty, however the whole meal was warm and had obviously stood on the shelf for a while. Plate cold. Dessert was Sticky toffee pudding. Took ages to come and the only part of the dish that was still hot was the centre of the pudding, plate again cold as was the custard. You need to up your game, have been coming to you for years without a problem, but it needs to improve. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

After a very long day at the London Marathon we booked The Acorn for 8pm when we got back. We got back quicker than expected and arrived at 7.40 We stood at the desk for a good 5 minutes before anyone deigned to speak to us. We were told to have a drink at the bar until ‘they caught up’ and would let us know when our table was ready.
We waited until nearly 8.25 and nobody came near us. I went to complain and stood at the desk like a spare part before the manager? approached us and said he would be with us in a few minutes. The restaurant had hardly any customers at this time. We told him not to bother and walked out!
No customer service whatsoever and no manners from the so called manager.
This does not even deserve one star but I have to put something
