I haven't been to the Auction House for a while, but was there over the weekend during a slow period. I got the Mac & Cheese Bites and my friend got soup. Was extremely disappointed in my food, especially for the price that it was. Both items were $12 each, so the M&C bites were 3 tiny friend balls without much flavour, and my friend's soup was maybe a full liquid cup, but likely not even that. And she didn't even get bread! For the cost, portion size, and mediocre flavour, I won't return. Our server is your saving grace on the rating. He was friendly, funny, and fast. The food and service were good. We were disappointed by the lack of local offerings for drinks. Halifax and Nova Scotia has an incredible microbrewery and cider culture. We would have been more willing to stay and drink had we had the option of local beer, cider, and spirits. This could have leaned into the history of the space more. If there are local who want the “regular” Canadian/American options, they could be available at the bar in the back. It was a massive missed opportunity.
