The Bakehouse was the ONLY place open in Axminster on a Saturday afternoon, and which had a fresh croissant, plus being willing to heat it in an oven, and for me to eat in their adjoining cafe. And then, as it was near to closing time, the baker himself offered me an extra savoury treat - for free! I ll certainly visit The Bakehouse in Axminster again!!

I popped in to buy some rolls. I asked for four but was told I could only have two, because the other two (which were on the shelf) might be needed by someone else !!? Price per person: £1–10 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Hi.Thank you for taking the time to review us with one star. I'm sorry you couldn't get the 4 rolls you wanted and were only able.to walk away with 2. I understand this must of been an incredible hardship to overcome. I hope you have found peace since. What was meant by 'someone else needing the other 2' is that we use the rolls to serve in the cafe, our most popular fillings are bacon and sausage, making a bacon and/or sausage bap. The bacon and sausage is pre cooked, if we let all the rolls go we then have to throw some of the bacon and sausage away. So perhaps on reflection you might understand why we had to keep some rolls. Or it could have been the the 2 remaining rolls were pre ordered by someone else. To avoid future disappointment you could pre order your desired amount of rolls and we will be sure to get them in and keep them for you. With all that said, if you'd like to come to the cafe I will personally make sure that somehow we can try to redeem ourselves with yoi. Im so sorry you had a bad experience with us. Please give us an opportunity to make things right. Kind regards. Chris

A little gem in Axminster. Great atmosphere, good choice of food and lovely staff. The bakery is there as well with lots of lovely goodies. Highly recommended. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
