This was my first time visiting Concord and I decided to go to The Barley based on the positive Google reviews. I am glad to say that I made the right choice. I would like to start my review by mentioning how amazing the service was. The waitress was very attentive, extremely friendly, and nice. I ordered the fish and chips, which were both tasty and arrived quickly. The dish came with coleslaw on the side. My table had a pleasant view of the New Hampshire State House and park. The men's restroom was also clean. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Exactly what you want in a tavern! Quaint atmosphere full of history in downtown Concord. Easily accessible, the tavern offers guests a homey and welcoming feel. The only downside was the food, it was bland and missing some zest and 'pop' of flavor. Ordered the artichoke dip and the chips were thick, hard and had no flavor on their own; they also appeared to be covered in paprika which didn't add to the flavor profile. The sweet potato fries were good, but (again) on their own they were okay. Really loved the pumpkin apple bisque, that was definitely a treat!
