I am "Canadian" (ex South African) visiting my family for Christmas. Dinner old years eve was nothing short of delicious - from the starters through to dessert!! Service was top notch!! The ONLY negative feedback was the deboned chicken dish was bland! BUT management was very open to the feedback!!! I was impressed with everything. The only reason that I am giving The Baron at Irene Link a one star rating is because of the attitude of the Manager. I saw the advertisement for the comedy night and phoned to book a table for 5 people. When we arrived we noticed that the stage was set up in the smoking section of the restaurant. I asked our waitress if we could speak to the Manager. She then asked if we wanted to move into the smoking section. We explained that we are non smokers. When the Manager arrived at our table the waitress told him that we didn't want to move to the smoking section. Without a word to us he raised his eyebrows, turned and walked away. We thought that he was going to try and make a plan but he hid away in the smoking section for the rest of our meal. Our waitress was lovely. She kept apologizing and our food was good but I will never return. Don't try and attract people to your restaurant with misleading advertising. A small problem with our booking on arrival was dealt with in a very professional manner. Service was excellent and everyone in our group loved the food. We highly recommend The Baron Irene to anyone. Thank you JP and all staff for excellent service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
