The Japanese menu attracts people searching for a new experience. Try good katsu, chicken katsu and fried chicken. Food delivery is a big plus of this restaurant. The success of The Basak wouldn't be possible without the friendly staff. Enjoyable service is something that guests note in their comments. From the visitors' point of view, the atmosphere is nice. Great food, speedy prep, and eco friendly packing. Good waiting music too! Loved it Parking: Not too many other shops around so while it's not heaps of parks, there's usually a fair few free. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: NZ$10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Chicken Katsu, Vege Kakiage Tempura, Fish Katsu Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free street parking

I frequently get takeaways from the Basak and everytime it's delicious. I've had quite a few of their meals, as has my partner, and they are great everytime! He gets the vegetarian meals and always says they are delicious and I can say the chicken is amazing. Definitely our favourite takeaway in Palmy! Amazing fried chicken. Small boneless crispy pieces. Katsu is also good. Lovely people and fast service.
