We had dinner at The Bayleaf in Colombo tonight, based on the wonderful Google reviews we had read beforehand — and we can honestly say that everything we read was true. From the warm and welcoming reception to the beautiful ambiance, the peaceful atmosphere in the middle of busy Colombo, and, of course, the fantastic food, everything was exceptional. The staff took the time to help us choose our dishes and gave us excellent recommendations. They were attentive, genuinely friendly, and made us feel very welcome. They even took the time to show us around the beautiful property, which was such a lovely extra touch. For us, it was absolutely worth it, and we thoroughly enjoyed our last evening in Colombo. We recently celebrated my son Dheerdev’s first birthday at Bayleaf, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. From the very beginning, the management and the entire team were incredibly supportive, professional, and attentive to every detail, making our special day completely stress-free. The food was absolutely outstanding every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and received so many compliments from our guests. A very special thank you to Mr. Yoga for helping us select an amazing menu. Your recommendations were truly exceptional and made our celebration even more memorable. Every member of the staff was friendly, courteous, and always ready to help with a smile. The chef also deserves special appreciation for preparing such high quality, flavorful food. Everything was perfectly organized, and the event ran smoothly from start to finish. Our family and guests had a wonderful time, and we created memories that will last a lifetime. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Yoga, the management, the chef, and the entire Bayleaf team for making our son’s first birthday so special. The Bayleaf is much more than just an Italian restaurant – it’s a place full of history and character. Housed in a beautifully preserved building that is over 140 years old, its stunning architecture and timeless charm make it a true hidden gem in the heart of Colombo. It was the perfect choice for our first day in Sri Lanka and a wonderful introduction to the island. The service was exceptionally attentive and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The authentic Italian cuisine was outstanding. Every dish was prepared with great care, and the freshness of Sri Lanka’s incredible local ingredients shines through in every bite, creating a truly memorable dining experience. We can highly recommend The Bayleaf to anyone looking for excellent food, outstanding hospitality, and a unique atmosphere. We are certain this won’t be our last visit!
