The Bollywood - Al Qurum Complex We wanted to have their all famous "lunch-buffet" and hey give BOGO offer on entertainer vouchers so the total buffet price turns out very cheap, just 1.5 RO per buffet... that sounded amazing.... steal a deal.... so cheap.... I mean.... where do you get such cheap food in Oman....???? We reach their and try their buffet... and oh my.... the whole experience was really "CHEAP". The only "bollywood" thing in the restaurant is the framed picture posters and the filmy music. The buffet had below average taste and quality. Positives : Amazing location, Vegetarian Theme, Design of the restaurant itself, Indian Food, Negatives : Staff, Cleanliness factor, taste To begin with..... the manager seemed too busy with the piles of paper on one corner table with 4-5 running tables helping themselves out with the buffet The butter milk was "ok"... could have been better The Papdi Chaat counter was a self service one which was "ok" as well. Then comes the food.... Starters - Tandoor Gobhi and Bread Pakoda Soup - Moongdal soup - boiled lentil water..... no way near appetizing Tandoori gobhi had no taste in it, loaded with masalas, lacked seasoning. Bread Pakoda - Gram flour batter - Deep fried bread kept in pieces.... on the buffet.... as a starter... seriously....???? wonder how people were having those extra oily bits. Main Course - Mix Veg, Veg Biryani, Tawa Paratha, kohlapuri dal Mix veg - spicy gravy... lacked taste Veg Biryani - spicy rice - lacked taste parathas were kept with a silver foil at the base, that didn't prevent the 1/4 pieces to get rock hard and they were anyway partially cooked on the sides Dal was the only thing eatable.... Dessert - Rice Kheer - with huge lumps of rice to chew on.... extremely over sweet... Icing on the cake - They don't like to clear plates/cutlery/napkins etc till you leave... so feel free to pile up dirty stuff on the table ;) Food Rating - 1/5 Service - 1/5 Ambience - 2/5 Value for Money - (-10/1.5) - per person as we had to go somewhere else to eat later. So we ended on the not so sweet note with a pledge of not coming back again.
