Yeah, don’t bother. One server in particular has zero people skills. They aren’t equipped to handle a full bar on a Saturday in Belfast. Service: 1

I had to sumbit a formal complaint was I wad subjected to bullying and abusive behaviour by the bar manager on 20 March 2026. I am a drummer with a Big Country tribute band and I was setting up for a gig in the premises. I was loading in my drum kit through the fire exit at the back accessed through the Wellington Park Hotel car park as instructed by a member of staff. When I open the fire exit wide to keep it open, one door came off it's hinge. I did not notice at the time. Later inspection showed that the door was previously damaged. The bar manager appeared out of nowhere and, with no introduction, and immediately became threatening and menacing. I had to ask him who he was. After being shouted at by him he said he was going to look at the CCTV recording to prove I broke the door , despite the fact that I admitted it must of been me who accidently broke it. Whilst he was away looking at the video the rest of the band and myself fixed the door. Despite this when he came back he started the shouting again and refused to apologise to me, after I had apologised to him for accidently braking the door. Through this epidsode he subjected me to a string of insults and names that are forbidden by Google content restrictions. Google restrictions also mean that I cannot name the manager. In addition to the swearing and insults he told me to get out of the bar. He was shouting and threatening. He also said that he hoped that I would go up in a blaze of flames if there was a fire in the ptemises. He was also abusive to our sound man. He called both of us "pencil necks". I would consider him to be a vicious and intimidating bully and I would be very surprised if this man did not routinely bully and intimidate staff. The abusive behaviour was witnessed by the rest of the band. I was distressed and annoyed at the threatening and abusive behaviour I endured. It was totally uncalled for and unprofessional. I do not think that this man is fit to manage staff or deal with customers. Despite assurances from the Director that my complaint would be independently investigated by their HR and I would receive a written response to my complaint I never received one despite my several requests. As a result I submitted this review. If you experience similar rudeness or abuse I would encourage you to complain or post a factual review

We’ve hosted three DJ parties at The Botanic Inn, and every time the experience has been fantastic! The atmosphere is brilliant, and the staff are always friendly and professional. Huge thanks to Darryn — he was incredibly helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend this place for great nights and events! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
