We had a fantastic experience at The Charles for our anniversary dinner! From the moment we walked in, the vintage charm of the old Wethersfield mansion made it feel special. The food was excellent. We started with Squash Blossoms and Fried Green Tomatoes, which were delicious! For our meal, I had the Steak Frites, which was perfectly cooked, and my wife enjoyed the Boston Cod. The service was top-notch, and they made our anniversary extra memorable with a thoughtful card signed by the entire staff, complimentary champagne, and a sweet dessert treat. It’s the little things like this that make a great restaurant truly special. I highly recommend it! Our waiter was wonderful and the place is beautiful. The food is overpriced and whoever is cooking needs to pay more attention when cooking meats. My husband ordered his steak medium well and this is what he got. Rare for sure. I’m just glad I didn’t order any meat since I’m pregnant. It’s not the first time they’ve undercooked their meat. Owners seem to be racist as i’ve heard quite a bit. Servers were lovely, food was amazing. the menu had a good variety, props to whom ever made the dishes. Although everything was fine i cannot continue to come back and support people like Bryce.
