Walking near Bloomsbury, visit The Cheshire Hotel. Taste dishes of British cuisine at this place. A lot of people find that laing here is good. This spot has the good coffee selection.

It's easy to find The Cheshire Hotel due to the convenient location. Besides, the decor is beautiful. But google users rated this place and it didn't achieve a high rating.

The first thing that is very good about this hotel- IT'S LOCATION. I did not know much about London areas, but I did my research and got to know that, you should book around Central London, so I booked at this hotel. Little did I know the location would be perfect for any destination/ direction. Everything is like a 2-10 minute walk from the hotel. This budget hotel is situated in the heart of the London West End, near the junction of Tottenham Court Road Tube Station, and Oxford Street. Tottenham Court Road Tube Station - 2 min walk and now you are off to any location. Covent Garden, The British Museum- 5 min walk Leicester Square, Oxford St: 5-7 Min walk Trafalgar Square: 10 Min walk We were here for 4 nights and 5 days. The room is very compact and you can not walk freely. It's good for small luggage and we had not very nice time, unpacking /packing medium-sized bags every day while getting ready. The bathroom was quite good in size compared to the room size. All rooms have ensuite facilities, Freeview television, free wifi, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, complimentary tea & coffee facilities, and are designated non-smoking. Elevators are there and a luggage storage facility too. Great café around the corner with a good breakfast and also a pharmacy on the corner I got a room facing the road and this is a busy road and let's just say you can't sleep peacefully, there is always noise outside, so avoid room-facing roads. Smooth checkin-checkout. They kept the deposit of 100 pounds but it's fine, it's their policy. Throughout our stay, we came at 3 AM and even left at 4 AM- no issue with that. Someone was always there at the reception. Even they were okay with our early check-in. Overall - 3.5/5 Nearby activities: Everything is like a 2-10 minute walk from the hotel. Great location for reaching many of the city's most iconic sights. Styled external structure. Decadent and poorly maintained interiors with poor maintenance. I stayed in a single room on the lower level: quiet but with very poor furnishings compared to the photos that appear on the portals. Rooms: Very sparse furnishings Nearby activities: Very close to the British Museum and many tourist streets and places Safety: Very safe and quiet Walkability: You can get there in 1 hour at most on foot from all sides. However, the metro is very close for longer distances. Rooms: 2 Service: 1 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet

Genuinely the worst hotel experience I have EVER had. Dangerous that this place is still bookable. I stayed here about a year ago when I was on a low-budget vacation with a friend. We are not unfamiliar with what cheap hotels can be like, but honestly, I wouldn't agree to stay at this hotel for FREE. Here is a list of EVERYTHING that went wrong: We had to wait a few hours for our room to be ready and they offered to keep our luggage until then in a random closet with NO lock or security Our room was in an unfinished basement, the floor was ripped out in some places (see pictures) They gave us the wrong room (1 twin bed when we booked 2 twin beds) and tried to tell us we booked it wrong even though we showed them the confirmation. Eventually they did switch us but we had to put up a fight. Our new room still had someone else's stuff in it (seriously) We had no key card, just a physical key which is fine but we had to return it to the front desk EVERY time we left the hotel. They did not check IDs when we came back and asked for our key - even when the front desk person changed Again, no security, all room keys are in a box on the desk, unlocked and sometimes unattended No signal in the basement At night, there was a teenage receptionist who was alone and couldn't have been older than 15/16 There was no hot water in our room. Instead of upgrading us, they gave us a second room key to the room next door that we would have to shower in. We heard screams in the middle of the night A worker entered our room in the morning while we were still SLEEPING The last point was our last straw, and we ended up asking for a refund because we felt unsafe and frankly violated. They refused to give us a refund despite admitting to being at fault for the treacherous experience we had. They claimed the hotel manager was "abroad" and they were unable to contact them. They did offer us a room upgrade after the first night (to the rooms NOT in the basement) but like I said, you couldn't ask me to stay there for FREE. We ended up leaving and getting a room at a big chain hotel down the street. To top it all off, I left a gold ring in the room and housekeeping stole it. When I came back to look for it, it was gone and the front desk said no lost items had been reported. This is a cautionary tale, DO NOT STAY AT THE CHESHIRE HOTEL IN LONDON!!! The location/price is not worth the trauma. Service: 1
