I must say it was hands-down one of the best fish and chip meals I have ever had. It is rare to find a place that truly honors this British institution with such high quality. We started with the battered halloumi, which was excellent—perfectly golden and crisp on the outside while remaining light and salty. As for the main event, the fish and chips were outstanding. The batter was light and shatteringly crisp without being greasy, and the fish was beautifully flaky. The chips were exactly as they should be: thick-cut, golden, and fluffy. Accompanied by the tangy tartare sauce and fresh mushy peas, it was clear that every element was prepared with real care. Beyond the food, I was very impressed by the atmosphere. The music was great, and the entire shop was exceptionally clean, which makes it clear that your staff takes great pride in maintaining the premises. The service was warm and friendly, and the generous portions arrived piping hot. Thank you for providing a true five-star experience. We look forward to visiting again soon. If I could give this 0 I would! First trying this place out and it was awful! Luckily I did not eat any of the scampi- first bit I cut into was grey and not cooked, completely cold and raw. I broke open the others and whilst they weren't all grey, they were still undercooked. Chips were pale and tasted raw, the mushy peas weren't mushed- they were covered in so much salt and just peas, a horrible murky swamp colour. Husbands burger was dry with nothing inside just burger and bunny. Maybe it was because they had been busy but not an excuse to give customers food poisoning. Manager offered a full refund after me arguing the fact I deserved one and a voucher. Needless to say I declined a voucher to eat there again. The food was delicious! .... and the service from Kirsty was very polite and she made us feel welcome. The Codfather has a warm atmosphere about it and will certainly be back!!
