Absolutely everything was poor! Service! Management! We arrived @ 12 they needed to clean. We do understand it was a hectic Sat evening as they explained and apologized but then don't open on a Sunday.. When we sat down we order my grandchild lunch immediately (ribs and chips) as he was very hungry. My husband food came first and this was one an half hours later... my grandchild lunch only arrived 15min later. My daughter and myself order chicken livers non existing. My husband finished his lunch and we still haven't received our lunch. Chicken livers? Then when my husband complained the manager explained that the kitchen only opens at 1:30? Huh?

This American bistro style restaurant known as The Countess is situated in the middle of a bunch of metal shipping containers, yes that's correct, SHIPPING CONTAINERS. The place is called "27 Boxes" in Melville, Johannesburg. It's the kind of place that is for adventurous people like myself. 27 Boxes has many shops and all of them are within shipping containers which is a very clever way to reuse these materials in my opinion.

I can’t believe we hadn’t visited this restaurant before - what a gem! The food was fantastic, but I especially want to commend Eunice for the friendliest service we’ve experienced in ages. She made our experience especially pleasant!
Highly recommend the Brisket Mac & Cheese burger and the Pork Ribs.
