Outstanding spot! And the best bagels on the entire East End without a doubt. Stumbled upon Eccentric Bagel finally today and absolutely loved it and Darren the owner. Great local spot, great menu and vibes, and they actually have gluten free as well! Splurged on real bagels though and they were all delicious. Shoutout ! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

On our crusade for the best NY style bagel on LI, we stopped at The Eccentric Bagel on the way to the Hamptons from the North Fork. One of the best bagels that we had while in Long Island. The crust was crackly, the crumb was dense and chewy...in short these were some of the best bagels. I will say that the breakfast bagel sandwiches are huge and should be shared. Definitely would stop for a bagel if you're in Shelter Island.

I asked the old woman there for a quarter pound of turkey. First she said no. I asked her why not? And she said only for sandwiches. I explained to her I am on a no carb diet and can't have breaD. She said she's not cutting. I guess it's pre-cut. So I asked for a turkey sandwich with no bread. She insisted to order turkey on a plate -Which I did. There is an electric sign up in the place that lists all the deli meats by the pound. I pointed that out to her and she told me she's understaffed. There were 4 people behind the counter. We were her only customers at the time. We had our staff shirts on. We are obviously not residents. I know she would not have treated us like this if we were from here.
