We just got back from our 3 day stay at the English rose. Could not recommend it enough! The view is absolutely stunnning, rooms are well decorated, pool is relaxing and staff is friendly. It is just down the road from an amazing snorkeling spot and the perfect peaceful gateway in the mountains. The drive up is a bit steep but worth it for that incredible view. There is a breakfast restaurant attached so it gets very busy during business hours but the food was delicious! Please also be aware you are up in the mountains so there are a lot of jungle sounds and bugs! Service: 5

We went for brunch and were extremely disappointed. I am a vegetarian— so when I saw that their menu had a wide selection and offered substitutions for dishes with meat, I was very excited! We started with some house-made strawberry lemonade— it had a strange taste almost like it was made with some foul strawberries I ended up ordering the veg nachos, a side of fruit and a couple hashbrowns. I asked our server for no pico de gallo on the nachos but they still came out covered in it. There was excess sour cream and guacamole on the nachos and hardly any beans The fruit bowl was anything but fresh— the strawberries were covered in mushy brown spots and bananas were way past ripe. I couldn’t even eat half of it. The (FROZEN STORE BOUGHT) hashbrowns came out last and our server took it upon himself to add them to my boyfriend’s plate, which had meat. I don’t do cross contamination so I had to reorder them. Overall the food was overpriced and horrible— we will not be going back. This place is for tourists with poor palettes and it’s no wonder the locals don’t recommend it. The view is the only thing that makes the drive worth it.

Hola Brianne, We are very confused by your review, after checking our pos system and cameras, we did not sell a single order of vegetarian nachos today. If you did have an actual experience with us, we are sorry you had a sub par experience for your restricted diet. In the future when dining with us, or any restaurant please ask for a manager. We would be happy to fix any issues you may have. Our juices are made fresh daily and all of the fruit is sourced locally. We make our own cast iron skillet potatoes every morning fresh.
