Nice view over the water. Place looks like it could do with a good clean. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. Food was terrible. Burger patties were dry and seriously overcooked with a dark brown crust. Burger rolls were toasted to the point of having black charcoal streaks. Completely tasteless. For R100 I can get a better burger at any fast food restaurant. Coffee milkshake tasted like extra sweet vanilla. I asked for a shot of espresso to make it taste like coffee, and was charged almost R30 for it on top of the cost of the milkshake. One person had calamari which was lukewarm and rubbery (R170). So disappointing as I read the reviews before deciding to take my visitors there. Never again. Food is not tasty, and by no means value for money. The only reason for 2 stars is the waitress. She was great. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 150–200 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

Went to The Furnace restaurant just before it closed, and they kindly let us stay even though it closing time. Despite the late hour, we didn't feel rushed to order or finish our meal quickly. It was a thoughtful gesture that I appreciated. The food was decent, especially the T-bone, which was fresh and well-prepared. I enjoyed the outdoor dining space, with a lovely view of a small pond and refreshing air. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
