Went in for lunch, food was fine, but nothing special. Got chatting to a couple who were visiting the area. So would say it was a lovely place to sit and relax with new and old friends.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Friendly staff, clean rooms, right on the doorstep of the magnificent Selby Abbey. Nice restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Service: 5

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for getting around from driving to York or just taking walks. Central location to shops and restaurants. The cooked. Breakfast was especially tasty and the chef so lovely making a few eggs & sausage for our labrador plenty of seating indoors and outdoors The only downside of our stay was the stairs, there were a lot of them, so if this isn't an issue I would definitely recommend the George Inn Service: 4
