The German Cafe in Shirley provided a delightful experience during my recent visit. As I awaited the outcome of my son's driving test at the neighbouring test centre, I indulged in their full English breakfast, which was nothing short of exceptional. The breakfast was a hearty and satisfying meal, featuring perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, succulent sausages, and a generous serving of baked beans and grilled tomatoes Each component was cooked to perfection, making it a truly comforting meal. The ambience of the cafe was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who made me feel right at home. Their attentiveness and cheerful demeanour added to the positive atmosphere, making my wait a pleasant one. The decor was charming, with a subtle nod to German influences, creating a unique and cosy setting. The highlight of my visit was receiving the wonderful news that my son passed his driving test on his first attempt. The German Cafe provided the perfect backdrop for this memorable moment, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone in the area, whether you're looking for a delicious meal or simply a welcoming spot to relax. I love this place so much, I always used to go there and have the most iconic waffles whilst my sister was at ballet (she was missing out!). Staff are friendly, food is delicious, and it is a lovely atmosphere. 5 stars.

I used to love coming here but it has slowly been going downhill over the past few months. Today will be my last visit. A cooked breakfast full of grease and totally inedible. Poor service, poor food and overpriced.
