Usual spoons vibes, sticky interior and a rear garden of pidgeons eating scraps off the tables. Good selection of ale on, 4, including the normal ruddles, doom bar, but also abbot ale and a lancaster red at time of visit. Option for it to be served in a pint glass or jug, which is a nice touch. Ale well kept and cheap.

We've come to the conclusion that we're definitely Wetherspoon fans. Rochester Wetherspoons is lovely. Seating area at the back, booths etc inside. As always, fast service, well priced food, and friendly chatty staff. This one is a hotel too.

Had a bad experience at the golden lion wetherspoon at Rochester today. We group of friends used to go there every Thursday to have some food and drinks. Today the security asked for our physical id, well they are doing their job, two of us didn’t had id with us physically. But i did shown my visa which is only accessible from the government of UK website. And they still didn’t let us in. I was 22 and my friend was 34 years old. I request JD weatherspoon management to teach the basics of the type of id to your security staff, since the uk resident permit card has changed to E-Visa, and your staff are not updated with training. If the Airport securities can accept E-Visa, Why can’t you !!??? I am very happy and satisfied with everything else that Golden lion provides with quality of food and service. But today’s bad experience from the securities unforgettable.
