Wow! As a former resident here in Doha and coming back after a few years, I couldn’t be any happier to celebrate my 30th birthday at the state of the art rooftop lounge! Amazing experience at HIGHMORE Doha! Anthony, the manager, was professional and welcoming, and the staff , Ibrahim & Bryan were very friendly, attentive, and very skilled. Trust me on this! Dear Mr. Alex, I am writing to formally express my serious dissatisfaction with the organization of the New Year’s Eve event and the conduct of your team at the HIGHMORE restaurant. As a condition of reserving a table, we were explicitly informed that full prepayment was mandatory and that without advance payment a table would not be guaranteed. Acting in good faith, we paid 2,600 QAR for four guests, which is a significant amount for a New Year’s Eve dinner. Please refer to the attached proof of payment. We arrived at the restaurant at 10:00 PM, well-dressed and on time. However, by 11:30 PM, we were still not seated and were forced to stand in an undefined queue. There were no available tables, despite our confirmed and fully paid reservation. It became evident that the HIGHMORE team had decided to admit walk-in guests at a higher price, completely disregarding those clients who had prepaid long in advance. At least four other companies were in the same unacceptable situation as us. We were kept waiting outside in the cold, which is absolutely unacceptable treatment for paying guests. We requested a manager. After approximately 30 minutes, a manager named Antoni arrived. He was clearly unprepared to address the situation and had no reasonable explanation, as our complaint was entirely justified. As a guest, I expect service, organization, and a festive atmosphere — not chaos and neglect. At approximately 11:35 PM, we noticed an empty table with only two chairs and, receiving no assistance, stood next to it without permission. Mr. Antoni promised to bring two additional chairs, yet repeatedly avoided us and never fulfilled this promise. Chairs were never provided. Regarding food and beverages: • I was served two glasses of champagne and one Margarita cocktail. • I managed to take one small plate of appetizers myself from the kitchen area. • When I asked staff for more food, I was told verbatim: “There is no more food.” Photographic evidence is attached. To be absolutely clear: We paid 2,600 QAR for two glasses of champagne and one plate of snacks. The so-called pizza offered was nothing more than bread with tomato paste, which is unacceptable and does not qualify as proper food service. This level of service was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. The actions of Mr. Antoni and his team completely ruined our evening, as well as the evenings of other guests in the same situation. I hereby formally demand a full refund of the amount paid. Should this issue not be resolved promptly, I will not limit my actions to a single email. Such treatment of guests is unacceptable for any establishment, especially on a New Year’s Eve event. The entire situation was disgraceful to witness. My evening was completely ruined. Price per person: QAR 500+ Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
