Try nicely cooked salmon, fillet steaks and wedge salads that are proposed at this restaurant. Do not go away without degusting good profiteroles, ice cream and cheesecakes. Degust delicious wine or good martinis. Guests don't highly appreciate coffee at The Lakeview Restaurant.

I don't know if I hit a bad day, but the most impressive thing about Easter Brunch was the view. I was really looking forward to the prime rib carving station, but it was overcooked until it was grey and chewy. The other beef dish was also overcooked... actually, pretty much everything was overcooked. The servers were very nice and attentive and we sat in the window overlooking Lake Bellaire, which was pretty amazing. For $45/person + drinks, it just wasn't worth it. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We just went tonight for Valentine's Day dinner. Just was the best meal I've ever had up here! The only thing that could of topped everything was having a beautiful sunset. There just wasn't a sunset at all tonight. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I've been to the Lakeview Restaurant on three different occasions during my stays at Shanty Creek Resort. I would love to give this venue a better review because it has potential. The view overlooking Lake Bellaire is breathtaking. Several tables are located in a cantilevered overhang with floor to ceiling window. The food was delicious and presented well. The reason for my two star review is regarding service, or lack thereof. Sadly this appears to be a management issue. The staff individually are friendly in their interactions. However, the serve to table / patron ratio is dismal at best. This leads to unacceptable wait time for first contact with a server and then waiting for a bill once you're finished. Utterly unacceptable and unfair to the servers who appear greatly overworked. I think with proper server staffing to improve the noted issues from not just my review but several reviews they could easily increase their ratings...
