I hadn't wanted to post a negative review but after a second bad experience at the bistro I had to share our disappointment. We had stayed at the hotel a number of weeks ago , encountered an extremely rude maitre d , from the minute we arrived it felt off. There was a big hygiene issue with my meal which was not addressed by bistro management. This however was taken care of by the actual hotel ,which we were greatful for! Decided to return here today with my parents, we had driven from Tipperary. We brought our dog with the hopes of dining outside as it was a beautiful day only to be told there was no outdoor dining today due to "rain " . It was a beautiful day ! Then we were refused takeaway even though it clearly says on the website you can order takeout. The bistro was so quiet we would have thought they would have welcomed our business. The manner of the staff was so disinterested. We were made to feel like nuisances . One lovely lady tried to help but it was too late at this stage. It was really upsetting for my parents who had made the trip from Tipperary . We were welcomed with open arms ( dog and all ) at the Kilkenny design centre just four minutes down the road , had a fabulous experience there ! After two really bad experiences we will not be returning to the lighthouse bistro . Such a shame as everything else is so lovely about the hotel . Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We came here on Sunday for my surprise 50th bday lunch. The food was scrumptious and the staff were brillant. Special mention to Louis who went above and beyond to making sure everyone was sorted and happy. There were 17 people in our group and everyone was happy out with all their food. Thanks a million. Not only did I get to have my 50th bday lunch here, I also had my 18th here many years ago. Garryvoe hotel has always held a special place in my memories and it didn't let me down. Thank you so much. Also there was a lovely manageress on at the time too but sorry I can't remember her name. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
