Stumbled on this little gem today 28/09 after passing numerous cafes that didn’t quite hit the mark. We walked in and the smell of all the delicious food made us realise it was worth hanging around for a free table. The staff were quick to seat guests despite it being busy and every single one of them was extremely friendly and polite, you can clearly see customer service is a natural skill for each and every person working there. The interior was beautiful and spotlessly clean, with a lovely quirky themed decor that really told a story. My son loved the addition of the lighthouse keepers books which we read whilst we waited for our lunch, a great memory for me as my grandmother read them to me as a child. Our sandwiches were delicious, we had the steak and the fresh crab. Wish we had room for cake because they looked delicious too. If we visited Filey again we will be sure to pop in, because it really ended a beautiful weekend away so nicely. An extra huge thank you to the staff for making a little fuss of our toddler, he’s usually quite shy but was happy to talk to the ladies about it being his birthday because they were so naturally friendly. To sum it up, if you want fantastic service in a beautiful setting, great food and cakes then certainly pay the lighthouse a visit!

Delicious food! Great portions sizes, proper sandwichs. A little warm in there could do with leaving the door open, and too many flies. Can't be helped but was a little annoying

We had breakfast here on our first morning in Filey as we had managed to park outside. We sat outside as we had Hollie out Jack Russell with us and a very pleasant young lady came out to take our order. We ordered two bacon baguettes, a cup of coffee and a pot of tea which came to around £20.00, which you might think is expensive until you saw the size of the baguette and the amount of perfectly cooked smoked bacon inside them. There was so much bacon, Hollie had a lovely breakfast as well. My coffee was perfect, nice and strong and my husband's pot of tea looked great as well. The seating outside is nice and fairly comfy and inside there were quite a few tables for the size of the café. The toilet was spotlessly clean as well. All in all, a very pleasant start to a holiday we are still enjoying. We will definitely go for breakfast there again before we go back home to Birmingham.
