I ordered the sliders. They were very average. The problem were all the flys inside. We were constantly swatting at flies while trying to enjoy our meals like the folks at other tables. I completely lost my appetite when one fly dive bombed into a slider and did the spinning dead bug on my plate. I had to swat it away which swiped it thru the remainder of my lunch. I spoke with the waitress about the excessive flys inside. She “poo pooed” it with all kinds of excuses as if it’s always like that. “We had 15 in here when we opened.” I’m sorry but that’s a sanitation issue. I would not recommend this place. Thank you for your feedback. Similar to the PSA our good friends at Boise Brewing share each year, Boise’s fly season can be challenging for restaurants with open-concept patios and doors that remain open to the outdoors. We take cleanliness and sanitation seriously and do our best to mitigate flies throughout the season, but unfortunately we cannot completely prevent them from entering an open-air space. We hope you were offered one of our tabletop fly deterrents during your visit, and we’re sorry the flies negatively impacted your experience. Great food with tasty Gluten Free options as well as great options for our entire group. The menu selection is on the shorter side but allows them to cook to perfection. Exceptional service! Our server was over the top even though they had a dinner rush shortly after we arrived at 6pm. Casual, modern atmosphere that was Perfect for our group. Highly recommend eating at The Local! We will be returning.
