We chose the Local for our family outing meal in OBX. They were very accommodating for a party of 11. We enjoyed the atmosphere and Damar did an excellent job waiting on the table. The burgers, salad, and fish and chips were fine. The alcoholic drinks were just ok. Three of us also ordered the mahi and al pastor tacos. It was like an episode of hot wings. After two bites, you couldn’t eat anymore with the heat. They were not flavorful or enjoyable and the majority of the tacos remained. A replacement meal wasn’t offered nor a discount or refund. Three of us stopped in at Harris Teeter to grab some premade food afterwards and skipped dessert there. If you decide to go, stick with the simple items, make sure you check in on the level of heat, and stick with the beer. Price per person: $20–30

First time visiting The Local OBX, and everything was amazing! Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures, but the food was fantastic. I’m assuming this is a newer restaurant since it was a little hard to find on Google Maps, but I can definitely see this place becoming very popular. We ordered the Low Country Boil, fish and chips, and chicken tenders with fries. They had a great variety of appetizers and entrées, and the Beer Cheese Swirl Fries were the BEST I’ve ever had! The portion sizes were perfect, and they also had a decent selection of beer and mixed drinks. It looks like they offer daily specials, and we happened to come on $4 bottled beer day. Since it was our first visit, I had to try the Mermaid Margarita. It was a little on the small side(as expected for most mixed drinks), but it was absolutely delicious. The quality of the food was excellent, and the customer service was just as good. I believe we may have been served by the owner (not 100% sure), but if it was him, he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back. Great food, great service, and a wonderful overall experience! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Price per person: $10–20 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

Cleo- thank you for coming to the local and we are glad you everything! The mermaid margarita is our own bartender, Kat’s creation. They are dangerously delicious. Thank you

Service was slow but friendly. Wasn't able to provide any useful info about the special, the Porcetta Sammy, which actually turned out to be pretty good. The rest of my party seemed to have a bad time. Salsa was bland, Noodles were not watery and unexpectedly sweet. Sticky shrimp was not particularly well sauced. Taco Al Pastore had canned pineapple which was not appealing. I was the only one at the table that finished their food. Other review mention good smash burgers. Maybe we should have played it safe or gone somewhere else. Edit: Also overpriced for what I got.
