The lovely staff (and patrons) of the Linton Lock Inn were just so helpful. They made us a delicious cheeseburger and chips along with a Donner pizza that came with an abundance of Donner meat. Chips were thick traditional pub chips that looked hand cut, and had been cooked to perfection. I was "encouraged" by the owners to pop in early and grab a quick drink while waiting for our food. I had a delicious and crips pint of lager and chatted to many of the locals while I waited. Overall... I'm likely to come back to Linton-on-Ouse just to visit here again, with the coal fire roaring it was a smashing place to chill out for a wee bit. This was my first visit in many years, and things have changed but sadly not for the better. Signs have gone up restricting access both up and down stream. When I asked for a couple of menu's I was told in no uncertain terms "Nope, it's only Sunday Lunch and if you ain't booked you ain't getting in" she could not have been more smug about it if she tried. This only added to the unfriendly atmosphere we felt before entering the pub. Will not be back.
