Booked at short notice and used the ferry to reach the pub. Lady at the bar was very friendly on arrival and had time to chat when we finished dinner. Chef also spoke to us and the young lad serving was very polite. Big portions so had no room for a sweet . Proper old fashioned pub with old fashioned manners and civility - sadly lacking in some venues these days. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I visited the pub a few days ago and the man that works there was extremely rude and basically didnt want to be there. I felt sorry for the lady working there as she was pleasant. We did want food but given the attitude preferred to go hungry. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £10–20

We were awaiting a minor repair of our boat and decided we would stop somewhere for lunch in the meantime. The Lord Nelson was the closest establishment so we decided to go in. Initially the lady on the door welcomed us in and told us to sit wherever we wanted , at this point we noticed a man on his phone sat at the bar. We were a party of 8 so we moved into an area that could accommodate all of us. No-one else was in the pub at this time, so we carefully moved one table closer to another so we could all sit together and a few of us went to the bar to order drinks . This is when the obnoxious chef decided to come out of the kitchen and start his rant. He angrily told us we shouldn't have moved the table without asking, then without even a response from us said "actually, you can all get out the pub" this was witnessed by the only two other people who had just entered the pub who looked on in horror. Unwarranted, unprofessional and extremely rude. I would suggest an anger management course or learning basic etiquette when dealing with customers. We took our custom to another local pub, who were more than accommodating. I suggest others who read this to do the same. **Edit** I was fully expecting an obnoxious reply as Mr Curtis clearly believes he does nothing wrong. Not a coincidence that other reviews received have the same surname. Remember that there is no smoke without fire We had a great holiday , lovely meal up the road, thanks for asking. Reedham and the rest of the community are friendly and welcoming.

What, again! You must have had a really boring holiday. You and your friends came in, never asked to move furniture which I find very rude. You never came to the bar and never asked about food. You just assumed you could do what you liked.
