After a walk around Vancouver Island Military Museum, many visitors stop by this restaurant. The Pantry offers nicely cooked roast beef, burgers and corned beef hash listed on the menu. Delicious wine is a decent choice. Coffee that you can try is great.
This place provides food delivery for the convenience of its clients. The atmosphere of hospitality of this spot highly depends on the staff, that is accommodating here. Terrific service is something that guests highlight in their reviews. You are to be pleasantly impressed with affordable prices at this restaurant. Where to start;
-There were three of us, 2 seniors and a teenager
-we asked to sit outdoors and we’re told the patio was closed even though it was a beautiful dry day and the restaurant was quite busy
-we ordered beverages and perused the menu
-10 minutes passed the waitress appeared to take our orders we asked where our beverages were and she had forgotten what we ordered so we ordered again
-35 minutes later we were still awaiting our meal. Finally caught the eye of our waitress she said she’d check with the kitchen, came back and said they will just be another ten minutes. We expressed our concern that other patrons arriving after us had been served and finished their meals while we were still waiting.
-15 minutes later our meals were delivered by our waitress and a woman I presume was a Manager.
The Manager apologized and said she would give the teen 50% off her meal but not the seniors as they had ordered off the senior menu
-my meal was ghastly, I had ordered the meatloaf
which was unrecognizable in taste and appearance
the mashed potatoes were covered in a very chemically tasting gravy and the veg was soggy, tasteless, frozen diced carrots. Needless to say the majority went back to the kitchen.
-meanwhile while all of this was happening and the restaurant had emptied out considerably, they started seating patrons on the patio
Long story short, a waste of time and money.
