We pride ourselves in our carefully curated drinks list offering a huge array of German and European inspired beers, which are updated on a daily basis, so there is always something new available to try and experience on every visit.

We have Hummusapiens permanently in our Kitchen, offering a 100% plant based menu, ranging from small plates to sharing flatbreads.

Our entire Food and Drink menu is Vegan.

The food is good and I have tried the dirty fries but it has a limited options on what you can order ... it is a bar not a restaurant as the food options as more appetisers than main meal ... many options for fries / nachos and even wraps. The beer selection is great and everytime you visit you will be able to try something new ... my last beer there was a "smoked" one which was quite nice and unusual. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I love The Old Bookshop - my favourite pub on North Street and would never give it anything less than five stars. Beers, atmosphere, music, service, general ethos - all perfect. They've recently launched their new menu after a series of pop-ups and residencies and I'm really impressed at how they've made a completely vegan German-inspired menu with enough options to keep most people happy. My one bit of feedback on the menu is that it feels like it needs a bit more detail on what the burgers/sausages/fishless fingers/schnitzels etc are made from. I know this is available on request for allergen reasons but even as someone without allergies I still prefer a bit more info in order to make an informed decision - vegan versions of meat dishes can vary massively depending on whether they're tofu, seitan, pea protein, soya, banana blossom etc etc. The food is all great but the lack of info on the menu did put me off a bit.
