Hands down one of the BEST Turkey sandwich’s I have ever had. I had the turkey special and my daughter had a regular turkey with lettuce and tomato on rye. It was this o cut, JUICY, warm and so tasty. Did not need any salt or pepper for add for flavor. It was perfect on its own. The price was fair especially since the location is downtown Philly the tables in reading terminal are hard to come by. I wish it was closer to me (in New Jersey) well done!!! It’s like the day after Thanksgiving every day! Not sure what they’re doing with the turkey but it’s juicy and piled high! Got the stuffin cran and would suggest adding gravy to get the full Fall experience! We were in Philly on Christmas Eve for the Christmas Village. We wandered over to the Reading Terminal Market to grab a bite to eat. I had been craving a turkey gobbler sandwich (I know, Thanksgiving is over, but it is such a comforting meal). We were walking up and down the aisles looking for a place to grab a bite, when we came across the The Original Turkey. The line was LONG as was all the other lines to the eateries. We took one more lap and decided to commit to getting the turkey stuffing and cranberry sandwich, as it looked good! The line went quick. All sandwiches are made to order. Despite being busy and Christmas Eve, the staff was super friendly and cheery. We found a place to eat in the bustling market and thoroughly enjoyed our turkey sandwich. The perfect amount of turkey, cranberry and stuffing. It did come with bacon, which I didn't think was necessary. It also came with cheese, that wasn't melted. It was a good sandwich, but my recommendation would be to omit the bacon, lettuce and cheese, and add a little mayo and a side of gravy. Overall a good sandwich and would definitely try some other things on the menu.
